David ‘Kochie’ Koch is trolled by his Sunrise co-stars over his hair loss

David ‘Kochie’ Koch was mercilessly trolled by his co-hosts on Sunrise on Thursday over his hair loss over the years.

Weather presenter Sam Mac teased the veteran TV personality, 64, about his mane by sharing old footage of Kochie on the breakfast program when he had more hair.

‘We’ve been digging, the great thing about this place is you can ask them for whatever vision you want,’ Sam said.

One clip was of Kochie’s first ever live finance cross on the network in 1991.

‘Pay attention to two things, one the tan and two how subtle the computer is,’ Sam said as Kochie laughed.

Sam then shared another clip of Kochie presenting the show with former co-host Melissa Doyle back around 1999.

‘Thank you Kochie for all these amazing memories!’ Sam said with a laugh.

Taking it in his stride, Kochie replied: ‘That’s amazing!’

His co-host Samantha Armytage quipped: ‘Sam has had the most amazing morning just googling you!’

It comes after Kochie sparked fears that he’s quitting the highly successful breakfast show.

Sharing a collage of snaps to celebrate his milestone 18th year on the show this week, the broadcaster thanked Channel Seven for the ‘opportunity’ and revealed he was ‘looking forward to what’s ahead’.

Koch’s caption left some of his fans concerned as they noted it ‘sounded like a goodbye post’, while others admitted the show ‘wouldn’t be the same without him’.

He captioned the post: ’18 year anniversary co-hosting @sunrise7. It has been an unbelievable experience and privilege.

‘Thank you for the opportunity. Looking forward to what’s ahead,’ he concluded.

His collage featured photos of him hosting the show alongside his co-host Samantha, as well as images from travelling assignments he was sent on.

His post didn’t go down too well with his followers, with one asking: ‘Are you going somewhere dear Kochie?!?’

Others quizzed: ‘Did you get the sack?’ and ‘Whattttttt. You are leaving?’

David’s other fans appeared to accept that he was resigning from the show, with one saying: ‘Will miss you every morning Kochie’,

It was also added: The legendary kochie leaving sunrise, 2020 is getting worse. Our mornings are over, OVAH.’

Acknowledging Sunrise’s early call time, someone else cheekily noted: ‘You can finally get a sleep in.’

A Channel Seven representative has denied that David is leaving Sunrise, telling Daily Mail Australia: ‘Kochie said it best himself in response to a number of viewer comments on his original Instagram post; “There’s a few more years in the old bloke yet”‘.

David’s departure would have undoubtedly come as a shock, as Sunrise continues to be the nation’s most-watched breakfast television program across the five capital cities.

According to the latest OzTAM figures released last week, the show co-hosted by David and Samantha, achieved a weekly average of 273,000.

Despite showing an improvement in the ratings in the previous survey, Channel Nine’s Today trawled behind with a weekly average of 212,000.
