Darren Criss and wife Mia Swier take a stand as they protest with ‘Black Trans Lives Matter’ sign

Darren Criss and his wife Mia Swier let their voices be heard about the tragic death of George Floyd during a protest in Hollywood, California.

The 33-year-old Glee actor wore a black bandanna across his face as he joined the more than 1,000 peaceful protestors on Tuesday.

Showing their support for the cause, Darren threw his fist into the air as his wife walked alongside him carrying their homemade sign which read, ‘Black Trans Lives Matter.’

The spouses both donned shorts and baseball caps, as they joined the eighth day of protests country-wide after the death of George Floyd, a black man who was killed while in police custody.

Floyd died after police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for over eight minutes.

He was stopped for allegedly attempting to use a counterfeit $20 bill.

Chauvin has since been fired, arrested, and charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

Criss’ sighting comes after the loss of his father, Charles William Criss Jr., who succumbed to a rare heart condition at the age of 80 at the end of April.

‘Dad lived an extraordinary life. Anyone who ever met Bill Criss adored him instantly. He could talk to anyone about anything,’ Criss revealed.

‘Well-read and well-traveled, he made the world a better place wherever he went. He was as deliriously charming as he was relentlessly selfless; always putting other people first, making anybody who ever got into a conversation with him genuinely feel like they were the most incredible person in the room,’ he added.
