Daniel Craig shares advice he’d give to the actor who succeeds him as James Bond: ‘Leave it better than when you found it’

As the legendary stealthy British spy, he’s always been a man of few words.

And Daniel Craig was similarly succinct on Monday, when he guested on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and shared his advice for whomever succeeds him as James Bond.

Craig, 52, has portrayed Agent 007 in five films, starting with 2006’s Casino Royale, and his last outing will be in the forthcoming No Time To Die.

Short and to the point: Daniel Craig guested on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday, and shared his advice for whomever succeeds him as James Bond

When asked by the late night host, ‘What advice would you give the next Bond?’ Craig replied much in the same fashion as one RuPaul Charles:

‘Don’t f**k it up. It’s a beautiful, amazing thing.

‘I don’t know what else to say, really,’ he continued. ‘Don’t f**k it up! Leave it better than when you found it.

‘Is that alright? Can I say that? Probably not!’ he added.

‘You’re allowed to do whatever you want. You’re James Bond!’ Fallon assured him.

No Time To Die is Craig’s first outing as the legendary cinematic spy since 2015’s Spectre.

The film was supposed to hit theaters this past spring, but like most major films this year, it was delayed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Similar to other likely box office blockbusters like Wonder Woman 1984, the newest Bond film has been shuffled around on the release calendar a number of times, with numerous postponements.

Just this past Friday, it was announced that the movie, which was supposed to finally come out around Thanksgiving, is now being scheduled for Easter weekend, on April 2nd of next year.

And on Monday, The Batman joined the long list of films being pushed, with studio Warner Bros. rescheduling that James Pattinson-starring comic book film all the way into 2022.

Meanwhile, as for who would fill Daniel’s shoes as the suave agent, rumors have swirled for years, referencing everyone from Idris Elba to a woman taking over the role in what would be a welcome gender-swap.

Henry Cavill, a.k.a. Superman, has also received been shortlisted as a possible Bond.

The role was originated by actor Sean Connery, now 90, who first played 007 in 1962’s Dr. No.

Other actors who’ve played him include Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan.
