Dance Monkey hitmaker Toni ‘Tones and I’ Watson buys her SECOND house worth $5.1million in Victoria’s Mt Eliza

She went from busking in Byron bay to topping the international charts last year.

And Toni Watson, better known as Tones and I, has purchased her second home in the Mornington Peninsula, worth $5.1million.

The 26-year-old snapped up the five bedroom property last Friday, her second purchase in the region.

The Dance Monkey hitmaker’s new double storey home is also around two-and-a-half times more energy efficient than current best practice.

It comes a month after the singer-songwriter made an $800,000 off-market deal for a property in Frankston’s Lakewood Estate, believed to have been bought for a family member or friend.

It seems a world away from the artist’s humble beginnings, having lived in her van to busk in Byron Bay just two years ago.

Tones and I’s hit track Dance Monkey reached number one in more than 30 countries last year, and placed second in Triple J’s Hottest 100.

Last month, she spoke out against trolling over her catchy hit single.

‘[It’s all] for releasing a song I wrote in my wardrobe. I can’t control the radio playing it every day. As soon as you release a song it’s out of your hands,’ she added.

The singer made sure to make the point that it was her and not them who has to listen to the song more than anyone.

‘I have to play it for the rest of my life so get over it, stop hating and go be nice to someone you actually do like,’ she said.

‘Leave me alone now, please,’ she told The Courier Mail.
