‘Unfollowing now!’ The Bachelorette’s Carlin Sterritt sparks a backlash over a ‘disgusting’ TikTok video about the coronavirus pandemic

Australians have been stocking up on toilet paper as widespread panic buying continues amid the coronavirus outbreak.

And on Thursday, Bachelorette winner Carlin Sterritt mocked the trend by sharing a video to TikTok of himself with a ‘soiled’ hand after running out of paper.

While the video was simply a joke – the brown substance was actually chocolate ice cream – fans were nonetheless horrified by the tasteless footage.

‘Yep it was so unnecessary, you are better than that,’ another added, while a third fan commented: ‘STOP THIS NOW.’

Following the backlash, Carlin clarified that the brown stain was just ice cream, and said he was amazed by how ‘precious’ some people were.

The personal trainer later added: ‘I’ve had to explain my joke but we got there in the end… my humour probably will never change.’

It comes as Australian panic buyers strip shelves bare of essentials including toilet paper, hand towels, pasta and toothpaste amid fears over the spread of coronavirus.
