It comes after Samia candidly revealed that lockdown has helped to ease her ‘all-consuming’ panic attacks.

The actress also let slip that the soap’s stars have two WhatsApp group – one for the women and one for men, which is supposedly ‘a bit rude’.

Since the long-running ITV soap stopped filming due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the show’s stars have been using the app to stay in touch.

The female actors have one WhatsApp group, while the men have another.

Samia, who plays Maria Connor, sweetly said that working on Coronation Street is like having an extended family.

She told The Sun: ‘The boys have their own group. Theirs is all a bit rude. The guys all send each other naughty things and we don’t want to see what they are doing.’

While the mother-of-two has previously struggled with ‘all-consuming’ panic attacks, she says that the lockdown period has helped her anxiety.

She admitted: ‘I’ve found it’s really eased while being on lockdown. I’ve had social anxiety most of my life which has been very challenging.

‘I hope that by talking about it I might be able to assure other people that it’s normal too, and that it’s something you can deal with.’
