Coronation Street’s Yasmeen Nazir will finally start to reveal her horrific ordeal with her abuse husband Geoff Metcalfe next week.

As she prepares to plead guilty of attacking him despite spending weeks being tormented by him, Yasmeen finally admits to granddaughter Alya that Geoff slaughtered and cooked her beloved pet chicken, before forcing her to eat it.

Fans are hoping that Yasmeen will avoid prison after she tried to defend herself against Geoff, but it remains to be seen whether she will speak out about his abuse.

Breaking her silence: Coronation Street’s Yasmeen Nazir will finally start to reveal her horrific ordeal with her abuse husband Geoff Metcalfe next week

Back in February, viewers were sickened when Geoff slaughtered Yasmeen’s pet chicken and then served it up on a plate without her knowledge.

Horrified over eating her beloved bird, Yasmeen (played by Shelley King) spat her food out onto her plate before running out of the room in tears.

Alya (Sair Khan) has been adamant that Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) was controlling wife Yasmeen, and has been determined to clear her name.

And as Yasmeen prepares to enter in a guilty plea, she finally comes clean to Alya about Geoff forcing her to eat the chicken and clean constantly.

It remains to be seen whether Yasmeen will plead guilty for her crime, or protest her innocence and set the stage for a lengthy trial.

While many viewers were outraged by the hard-hitting plot, there was no doubt they tuned in greater numbers than Corrie had seen for months, as the soap saw it’s highest figures since January 2019.

According to consolidated figures by BARB, final viewing figures showed that 7.89 million viewers tuned in for the episode that aired on Monday 27 April.
