Finally gone! Coronation Street villain Geoff Metcalfe’s reign of terror finally ended on Wednesday as he fell to his death following a rooftop showdown with Yasmeen and Alya

The drama kicked off with a seething Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) still reeling from Yasmeen’s (Shelley King) not guilty verdict at court after she attacked him in self-defence.

After trying to convince her to sign over her share of the house and then giving her the keys to collect her things from number 6, he headed off to Speed Dahl to steal some petty cash as he planned a new life in Cyprus with new girlfriend Christine.

But he was caught in the act by Alya (Sair Khan) who revelled in telling him that not only had she reported him to the police for harassing her gran, but she also informed Christine of his dastardly deeds.

Furious with Alya, he knocked her out with the petty cash tin before heading over to the house where Yasmeen is.

Letting himself in, he left her terrified as he locked the doors and doused the place in petrol before setting it alight.

With nowhere to turn, Yasmeen ran upstairs and climbed onto the roof, but her calls for help were drowned out by the protestors below.

Sinister Geoff then followed his wife onto the rooftop as he continued to taunt her, but he was soon interrupted by Alya who suddenly emerged to try and save her gran.

As Geoff edged closer towards her, Yasmeen finally found the courage to stand up to him and hit back a with a few home truths of her own.

She branded him a ‘pathetic excuse for a man’ and told her granddaughter how he still sucks his thumb when he thinks no one is watching.

Addressing her husband, she said: ‘I am not scared of you any more, do you hear me? If the plan is to push me, you just look me in the eye and know I am not scared of you any more.’

As he furiously lunged for her, Geoff lost his footing and slipped down the roof, begging his wife for help.

Despite Alya’s protests to leave him, Yasmeen proceeded to use her scarf to try and help Geoff, but he then slipped and tumbled off the roof to the ground below.

As the episode drew to a close, the villainous character lay motionless as Yasmeen’s beloved chickens pecked around him.
