‘I had a dream. You’re pregnant!’ Comedian Matt Okine says he correctly predicted friend Sylvia Jeffreys’ pregnancy at the Logies… and claims he has ‘psychic abilities’
Comedian Matt Okine thinks he is psychic.
The Other Guy star has claimed he correctly predicted school friend Sylvia Jeffreys’ pregnancy at the Logies last year.
Sylvia appeared on podcast Matt and Alex – All Day Breakfast on Thursday, where Matt recalled telling his pal about a dream he’d had.

The 34-year-old Today Extra host said she’d bumped into Matt, 35, in the elevator at The Star on the Gold Coast the day before last year’s Logies, before she had announced her pregnancy.
Matt explained how he told Sylvia about a dream he’d had where she was pregnant, not knowing she actually was expecting her son Oscar, who she welcomed in February with husband of three years, Peter Stefanovic.
‘And as we were standing there in that… lift in The Star on the Gold Coast, I was six weeks pregnant,’ Sylvia recounted.
Matt told Sylvia there was no way he could have known that, while she confessed she hadn’t said anything to him.

‘I definitely didn’t have a baby bump at that stage, that’s for sure,’ she continued.
‘Some people think that pregnant women have a little bit of a glow about them. I wouldn’t say I had a glow because I was having horrible morning sickness all day long at that stage.
‘And I was also looking down the barrel at a very long night at the Logies without having a drink, so I wouldn’t say I was in fantastic form!’

Sylvia said she was certain she’d had a ‘tell-tale smile’ on her face when Matt told her about his dream, and admitted she was ‘busting’ to tell him.
And even though his dream was ‘bang on’, she wasn’t able to tell anyone because it was still too early on in the pregnancy.
‘I had to carry on pretending like you were just a bit nutso,’ she added.

‘I literally just stood there, and it washed over me, and I was like, “Oh my God! That’s right, I had a dream. You’re pregnant!”‘ Matt recounted.
Matt said Sylvia then told him that she wasn’t pregnant, and he’d just assumed it was a standard dream.
He explained that it was only a few months later when she announced it on Instagram that he ‘did the calculations’ and then sent her a message saying, ‘I knew it!’
