Coles tuna is listed for sale on eBay for $1000 after supermarket discontinued product

Bizarre reason this small can of tuna from Coles is selling on eBay for $1000 – even though it EXPIRED two months ago

  • A 95 gram can of Coles Italian Style tuna has been listed on eBay for $1,000
  • The ridiculous price tag is due to the product being discontinued for two years
  • But, this particular can is almost two months out of date, expiring in August

A can of tuna that expired two months ago is up for sale on eBay.

The 95g can of Coles brand Italian Style tuna was listed for a ‘buy it now’ price of $1,000, with potential buyers able to put their ‘best offers’ in on the auction site.

The asking price of the fish product is so high because it was discontinued by the major supermarket chain about two years ago.

The seller from Bullsbrook in Western Australia has taken his chance, hoping to entice tuna lovers to purchase the expensive fish.

The seller posted a variety of photos of the tuna can, and one picture shows an expiry date of August 4, 2021.

And while the can has attracted a lot of attention, the potential buyers have been warned they will not be able to eat their pricey delicacy.

Shoppers on Facebook have been angered by the product’s discontinuation, pleading for its return.

‘Coles, I must ask why you discontinued your Italian style Tuna and I must very strongly ask why you discontinued your Coles Smart Buy Dim Sims?!?!?!?’ one angry shopper complained to Coles.
