Production on the upcoming fourth season of the hit Netflix show Cobra Kai has begun in Atlanta.

According to a report by Newsweek, the series – that follows the events from The Karate Kid franchise – was rumored to be shooting from January 20th until April 15th.

While streaming giant Netflix has not made any comment regarding the start date of filming, a now-deleted tweet from actor William Lex Ham seemingly confirmed that production for season four is now underway. 

The tweet reportedly read: ‘ Heading back to Atlanta bc I booked a role on Netflix’ Cobra Kai! Much love to the production’s health and safety team for their rigorous COVID protocols. My first big production gig since putting my career on hold to volunteer for Yang in Sept 2019.’

The news of the fourth season comes after Netflix revealed that the third season is on track to become one of the streamer’s biggest programs.

According to Deadline, who originally broke the news, the third season of the show is set to have been watched by 41 million households within its first month of release; the original premiere date was January 1st. 

It has also reached the number one spot on the streaming platform in multiple countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Greece, among others.

The total views for the entire series currently amounts to 73 million households.
