Chrissy Teigen gushes over ‘actual heroes’ as she and husband John Legend pose with National Guard

John Legend, 41, is one of many performers set to take the stage during president-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday night.

And Chrissy Teigen, as well as the couple’s two kids, tagged along for the historical experience, which the 35-year-old model has been documenting on social media.

‘lmao we got lost on the way to soundcheck but I just got to meet these f***ing actual heroes,’ captioned Teigen, who shared a photo of herself and John posing with the National Guard at the Capitol on Tuesday.

Chrissy, always putting on a chic display, had on a beige longline coat and a pair of suede boots, while John looked suave in a plaid coat and black turtleneck.

The lovebirds, as well as the honorable military members around them, made sure to don face masks for the close snapshot.

Another more candid photo from the impromptu meet-and-greet showed Teigen playfully shrugging for the camera as the army men around her stood around her with their weapons in hand.

Proving their devotion to one another, Chrissy made sure to include a sweet shot of her and John posing outside with their arms wrapped tenderly around one another.

Prior to jetting off to D.C., Chrissy decided to upload a snapshot of her and John’s two-year-old son Miles packing for their trip.

‘My baby got his first fat lip pushing his car down the driveway. still happy packing for inauguration though!’ captioned the Fast And The Furious star.

Miles looked darling as he flashed a smile for the camera and carefully packed his small suitcase.

The seemingly innocent post earned Chrissy a slew of unexpected backlash, with many Twitter users criticizing the family’s in-person inauguration attendance amid COVID-19.

They also criticized the fact that John would be performing in-person instead of virtually, which many have chosen to do amid the pandemic.

‘Hey Chrissy DC residents aren’t very “happy” right now and can’t even “happy pack” their cars to drive to the grocery store because of the military state the city is in but yeah LOL come on down especially in a pandemic. How happy!!!’ wrote one irked Twitter user.

There is also heightened security in the city due to the recent riots at the Capitol, which have made the city nearly impossible to navigate for local residents.

They also noted that due to the pandemic and social-distancing ‘no one will be there’ to see Legend perform, which prompted the question: ‘Why couldn’t he do a virtual performance and also why does his whole family have to go when literally no one can move about the city?’

‘for f**ks sake why are you guys always always mad at me, all I wanna do is make you happy or at least leave you with a neutral feeling of indifference,’ tweeted Teigen.

Chrissy also reminded those upset at D.C.’s current lockdown restrictions that it is not directly her fault, but that she feels their frustration during such a volatile time.

‘this is not my fault but I’m sorry you’re frustrated. I just like to share what we are up to and whatnot,’ wrote the wife of John Legend, who boasts 13.5million followers on the platform.

Despite the sudden social media backlash, Chrissy was undeterred as she continued to share behind-the-scenes footage from her husband’s rehearsals.

‘John! I’m going to cry,’ wrote Teigen on one post, which featured a video of the All Of Me singer surrounded by a slew of military men.

Shortly after sharing the brief performance clip, Chrissy returned to Twitter to share that she got in trouble for giving her fans a peek.

‘LMAO apparently that was all supposed to be a secret and i got scolded so act surprised tomorrow I’m crying,’ she wrote.

Obviously the reprimand was not harsh because the Chrissy’s Court star did not remove the video from her Twitter page.

John will be performing during Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ inauguration that will take place on the West front of the US Capitol on Wednesday.

Lady Gaga is set to sing the national anthem for the swearing-in ceremony and there will be appearances from Kerry Washington, Eva Longoria, Garth Brooks, Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen.
