Built by Gold Coast boat manufacturer Bill Barry-Cotter, the ‘one of a kind’ boat is said to heavily feature in the upcoming Netflix production.

‘A normal build would be around four or five months but this boat took us about five years,’ Barry-Cotter told the publication.

‘We wanted to do it as close to the way the boats were built back in the days that Sophia Loren would be seen sitting in the passenger seat.’

Since being crafted, the boat has been lent out to television and film productions around the world.

According to Barry-Cotter, Hemsworth’s character will be the ‘hero’ of the film, and will reportedly ‘dive off the boat and also fly a plane’.

Built across the Nerang River, the Hinze Dam proves to be the ideal location for the upcoming action.

Back in September, it was reported that the hunk signed a four-movie Netflix deal, including Spiderhead.

Chris is reportedly negotiating for the three other films also to be filmed in Australia.

Federal Arts Minister Paul Fletcher gushed that the funding delivered to Chris and Toni will create over 770 local jobs and would inject $170 million into the economy.

According to IMDB, the sci-fi drama ‘is set in the near future, when convicts are offered the chance to volunteer as medical subjects in hopes of shortening their sentences.

‘When one prisoner finds himself the test patient for a new pharmaceutical capable of generating feelings of love, he begins questioning the reality of his emotions and sets out to discover the truth.’
