Big Brother winner Chad Hurst insists Sophie Budack is FINE with him not giving her half of the $230,000 prize money – and insists their relationship was ‘genuine’ in the house

Big Brother winner Chad Hurst has insisted that Sophie Budack is fine with not receiving an equal share of the $234,656 prize money from the show.

On Thursday, the 27-year-old told TV Tonight he would be sharing ‘a large sum’ of his winnings with the former gymnast, but wouldn’t disclose exactly how much.

The model also addressed rumours about their relationship, telling the publication that everything ‘was genuine’ while they were in the house.

On Wednesday night, Chad won $234,656 from the show and is vowing to make good on a deal to share the winnings.

‘I will definitely share with Sophie. I think it’s the right thing to do. We were a team, so yeah, of course I would,’ Chad said.

He added: ‘It’s not 50/50 but a very large sum. We decided the winner would take more.’

Chad shared a similar sentiment with Perth Now, explaining they were still ‘working the numbers.’

‘I’m going to share the money with her for sure. I wouldn’t go against my word. We were a proper team, between us we won six challenges, she definitely deserves it,’ Chad said.

Chad also addressed their relationship rumours with TV Tonight, claiming it was never a ‘showmance’.

‘Regardless of what anyone says, everything in there was genuine on both our sides, he said.

The pair had previously said they were planning to split the money evenly if one of them won, because they’d made it through the game as ‘a team’.

So viewers were understandably surprised during Wednesday’s live finale when Chad made no mention of Sophie when asked how he planned to spend the money.

He instead said he would be taking a holiday with his friends and paying off his mother’s bills.

‘Boys, start booking flights, we’re going on a trip! And I’m looking after Ma’s bills. That’s all that matters to me,’ he said.
