Blake Lively reveals she felt ‘insecure’ when she couldn’t fit into sample sizes after giving birth to her third child

Blake Lively spoke candidly this weekend about how ‘insecure’ she felt about her body after giving birth to her third child.

She welcomed her daughter Betty in October 2019 and then at the start of last year she had to do the publicity rounds for her flop action film The Rhythm Section.

During that time she underwent the ‘alienating and confusing’ experience of not being able to fit into the samples that designers sent her.

Blake wrote her message underneath a snap of her appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon exactly one year ago this Saturday.

‘I put together a @lavinoffical shirt and dress from @netaporter to make this pretty outfit,’ wrote Blake underneath the photo.

‘Because no one had samples that fit me after giving birth. And so many clothes from stores didn’t fit either. So. Many,’ she revealed.

Blake argued: ‘It doesn’t send a great message to women when their bodies don’t fit into what brands have to offer. It’s alienating and confusing.’

She added: ‘And I wish I felt as confident then as I do now, a year later looking back. That body gave me a baby. And was producing that baby’s entire food supply.’

Blake continued: ‘What a beautiful miracle. But instead of feeling proud, I felt insecure. Simply because I didn’t fit into clothes. How silly is that in retrospect.’

On the other hand she expressed her respect for people like Megababe founder Katie Sturino for ‘challenging brands to do better, helping women to not feel alone.’

Blake credited Katie with ‘making meaningful progress. She reminds me, we all can ask for better from the brands we love.’

The Cafe Society actress married her sizzling husband Ryan Reynolds in 2012 at a South Carolina former plantation, a venue they apologized for last year.

They have been happily married ever since and brought three daughters into the world together – six-year-old James, four-year-old Inez and one-year-old Betty.

The Rhythm Section starred Blake as a prostitute who wants to avenge her murdered family and trains under an ex-spy played by Jude Law.

It bowed January 2020, was savaged by the critics and had the worst opening weekend ever at the box office for a movie in more than 3,000 theaters.

Ultimately the movie made just under $6 million worldwide against a $50 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo.
