Binky Felstead shares plans for a ‘big country wedding’ but rules out filming her nuptials for MIC

Binky Felstead is planning a ‘big country wedding’ with fiancé Max Darnton – but the couple have already ruled out having their nuptials filmed for Made In Chelsea.

The reality star, 30, who got engaged to Max in September, told MailOnline she’s always dreamed of a ‘marquee and hay bales’ and she’s hired a wedding planner to help turn her vision into a reality.

In an exclusive interview, Binky admitted that while she’s used to being on camera, her partner Max is not involved in ‘the whole TV thing’ – and so they’re going to keep their ceremony a private affair.

She said: ‘I don’t think we will film the wedding, as that’s quite a big commitment – we will see. Max is not around the whole TV thing. We will definitely share some pictures for sure.

‘I’ve always thought of a big country wedding with a big marque, hay bales, flowers in my hair, that kind of country vibe.

‘There has been other chat of abroad but who knows it is all up in the air but we’re open to suggestions.

‘I would also like to be somewhere with guaranteed sun and a big pool party and BBQ the next day. I’m also very excited about getting India a flower girl dress. I think she’s going to look so cute.’

Binky and Max got engaged in September after dating for 18 months, having met at Oxfordshire private members’ hotel Soho Farmhouse.

The former Made In Chelsea star, who quit the series after six years in 2017, said she wasn’t surprised by Max’s proposal, as she knew he was The One and they were destined for marriage.

She said: ‘I wasn’t in total shock, I knew it was going to happen. I knew we were going to get engaged one day.

‘We talked about getting married in the future and I was pretty certain Max is The One. It still hasn’t sunk in.

‘I know this sounds weird but when I think of all the coronavirus stuff and not being able to properly plan – but going to try on wedding dresses the other day made it much more exciting. It made it a little bit more real.

‘I have a wedding planner I am speaking to at the beginning of next year. That’s when it becomes more real.’

Binky is a mum to daughter India, three, who she shares with ex-boyfriend and former Made In Chelsea co-star, Josh Patterson.

She was pleasantly surprised that husband-to-be Max was supportive of her as a parent from the get-go after she told him she’s a mum during their very first exchange.

She said: ‘We were at two separate 30th birthdays at Soho Farmhouse and I was ordering some drinks at the bar and he basically came up to me and said ‘hey what do you do?’

‘And I said “I’m a mum” and that’s it and expected him to run off. But he didn’t.

‘Apparently he hadn’t seen me on TV. He lived in Hong Kong for six years – I think he obviously might have known.

‘We have some mutual friends in common but it was nice to meet someone that I didn’t have in my close friendship circle. It was really refreshing.’

On the importance of Max forming a close bond with India, Binky said: ‘Of course, he’s got to get on with my little one.’

Binky made a cameo appearance on Monday night’s Made In Chelsea, which saw her as bridesmaid at close friend Ollie Locke’s wedding to husband, Gareth.

Filming for the E4 show again didn’t tempt Binky into wanting to make a permanent return – as she admits she’s ‘done with the drama.’

She said: ‘We’re all growing up – we’ve all grown up together.

‘I am really enjoying these days so much and I can’t believe we grew up on TV and experienced all those ups and downs but I am happy with where we are now. I am done with the drama. It’s too much.

‘I have actually watched this series again I haven’t watched it since I left. It was interesting… I know exactly what is going on behind the scenes while watching it.

‘I’m just so happy to be watching it, a sneaky appearance here and there is all right but I have done my time.’

Binky has teamed up with Match, who have launched a limited-edition range of matching tracksuits, so you can co-ordinate your style with your loved ones.

She managed to convince businessman Max to match her look and the pair even snuggled up on the sofa together in their twinsets.

She said: ‘Convincing Max to do anything on Instagram is quite difficult but we’ve always said we don’t take ourselves too seriously and it’s quite a fun post and Max and I quite like the tracksuits.

‘I mean, they’re quite out there. We difficult get a few looks walking around where we live in them.

‘After lockdown and not seeing your loved ones and being cooped up, it’s quite fun to let it all out and spread a bit of cheer.

‘We actually love matching, India and I have matching jumpers – I do like to match her to me quite a lot.’
