Big Brother may return this summer as CBS ‘contacts former players for potential all-star season’ ahead of the 20th anniversary of the show

Big Brother seasons 21 aired last year during the summer, with the winner being Jackson Michie.

And CBS is reportedly contacting former plays for a potential all-star season this summer, according to Us Weekly.

Th series, which is nearing its 20th anniversary, is hosted by Julie Chen.

The outlet reported that CBS has contacted former players for a potential all-star season, which could potentially be this summer.

The series, which debuted in Jul 21, will have a different setup because of COVID-19.

While the show usually airs in June, it will be pushed to July, with players having to sequester longer than normal, and also quarantine for 14 days before entering the game, the website noted.

Some players have already declined participating due to COVID-19, US Weekly reported.

The last All-Stars season was season seven in 2006, which Mike ‘Boogie’ Malin was crowned the winner. 

CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl told fans that recently that the upcoming season would not be cancelled due to the virus.

Kelly said in May to Deadline: ‘With Love Island and Big Brother, we still hope to have on the air this summer, it could be a little later than usual but we’re still optimistic about getting those on.’

Adding: ‘Those shows turn around pretty quickly, Big Brother has live shows every week and Love Island literally airs the night after it shoots, those shows do not have long post processes.’
