A bizarre new Big Brother rule has divided fans before the show even starts. 

Channel Seven revealed on Thursday that the housemates’ shower time is limited to only 60 minutes of water available per day, between all 20 contestants. 

After working out that this means each star can have 3 minutes of water if they split the time equally, fans have debated just how long an average shower takes.

‘Nooo! You can’t do that!!! Ewww!’ wrote one fan on Instagram on Thursday.

‘F**k that! 20 mins for me, they can sort out the rest,’ joked a female fan of the show.

In constant, a third person wrote: ‘3 minutes in the shower? Mate, I only do two.’

According to the Australian Government Murray–Darling Basin Authority, the average Australian showers for 7 minutes each day, using 55 litres of water.

A trailer for the reboot revealed that the shower rule is set to cause drama.

Blonde bombshell and Adelaide tradie Talia Rycroft, 22, is seen gasping in belief as she prepares to get under the water.

Meanwhile, Shane Vincent, 39, doesn’t appear concerned about using more than 3 minutes of water. The father-of-three is seen laughing as he enjoys a leisurely scrub.
