‘My old solid heart’s gone!’ Ben Shephard is reduced to tears as an NHS carer reunites with her daughter on air as Calum Scott sings

Good Morning Britain host Ben Shephard was reduced to tears on Tuesday morning after seeing an NHS carer virtually reunite with the daughter she hasn’t seen for weeks.

Singer Calum Scott surprised the family from Stalham, Norfolk, who were forced to isolate separately due to coronavirus, with a stunning rendition of You Are The Reason.

NHS carer Lisa Cave, 40, decided to send her daughter Ruby to live with her father Paul because the seven-year-old has severe asthma.

The mother and daughter reunited once last week while Lisa wore a hazmat suit in a video which has since gone viral.

Lisa said it had felt like ‘someone had ripped my heart out’ after she said goodbye to her daughter on March 26.

She played You Are The Reason during the emotional reunion and former Britain’s Got Talent star Calum surprised the family with another rendition on Tuesday.

Lisa and Ruby made heart gestures to each other during the song and became visibly emotional on screen.
