Bebe Rexha chats bipolar disorder, meds, and accomplishing everything on her dream board

For the first time ever, two-time Grammy nominee Bebe Rexha discussed her bipolar disorder in detail and how she’s been able to overcome the mental illness to accomplish everything on her dream board.

It was April 15 when the sexually-fluid 30-year-old first revealed her diagnosis to her captive, combined 23.1M social media following.

‘That was my moment of being like, “F*** this,”‘ Bebe (born Bleta) recalled in the March edition of SELF.

‘I just decided to do it because I was like, “I’m not going to be imprisoned by my thoughts that I’m not normal or that I’m crazy. That’s bulls***.”

In her effort to break stigmas, Rexha tastefully glammed up in a black Adam Selman catsuit beneath a matching Isabel Marant coat and Gianvito Rossi pumps selected by stylist Yashua Simmons.

Photographer Heather Hazzan captured the platinum-blonde pop star in all her glamorous glory thanks to hairstylist Angelina Panelli, make-up artist Ash K. Holm, and manicurist Mel Shengaris.

Bebe admitted she’s still ‘scared of everything’ but said her bipolar meds have helped her balance her fears, gushing: ‘I couldn’t believe that’s how good people could feel.’

‘I’d be in the passenger seat of the car and I would want to open the door and jump out and just get f***ing squashed. Which is terrible,’ Rexha said of her extreme lows.

‘[Medication] doesn’t take away the sadness or anxiety totally, but I feel so much better. It’s helped me live a more balanced life, less ups and downs.’

‘It maybe helped me be a little bit more insightful and learn things about the world and also allowed me to be a little bit more centered so that I can actually write about my feelings.’

Rexha also found inspiration in OWN mogul/motivational speaker Oprah Winfrey, who once wrote a check to herself for a billion dollars and kept it on her mirror.

‘Every time she’d wake up, she’d look at it, so I decided to do that,’ the You Can’t Stop The Girl songstress explained in a SELF video.

‘I made like a big [dream board] with all of the things that I want to accomplish – be nominated for a Grammy which happened, first late night TV show which happened, sponsor/branding deal which happened, get my own place which happened. I think everything off that board came true.’
