‘I knew I wouldn’t be on anyone’s list’: Bachelor in Paradise evictee Janey Birks admits it was difficult to find a love interest on the show because nobody knew who she was
She made her TV debut on The Bachelor’s fourth season back in 2016.
So Janey Birks wasn’t surprised the cast of this year’s Bachelor in Paradise didn’t recognise her.
And the children entertainer, 31, told 10Play on Friday after her elimination that she felt her obscurity to the franchise’s newcomers was a disadvantage.
‘Before you go in, [production] ask you who you’re excited to see and I knew I wouldn’t be on anyone’s list,’ Janey said.

She continued: ‘That makes it harder, if they have people on a list who is actually there. I’m sure everybody would have at least one person, and then also me. I saw it as a disadvantage.’
Her co-star Mary Viturino was the most vocal about not recognising the dancer, asking: ‘Who’s this b***h with the yellow dress?’
Janey went on to reveal she made the choice not to scramble for an alliance to stay in Paradise because she only wanted a rose if somebody was genuinely interested in her.

‘As much as I could have joined in those conversations and been more strategic, I didn’t want it to be like that. I wanted to be there if I made a genuine connection,’ Janey explained.
She briefly caught Timm Hanly’s attention on Thursday night’s episode thanks to her bubbly personality, but he eventually gave his rose to Brittany Hockley.
The BIP cast weren’t the only ones who didn’t recognise Janey when she arrived during Wednesday’s premiere.

Viewers flocked to Twitter to express their confusion, including one stunned fan who wrote: ‘I do not remember Janey at all.’
‘Is it just me or does no one else remember Cass and Janey?’ one Twitter user wrote, echoing the views of many.
‘Why haven’t we seen Janey? Janey, is that her name? She’s cute,’ one viewer tweeted.
