Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame celebrated its one-year anniversary over the weekend, which lead directors Anthony and Joe Russo to share some rare behind-the-scenes footage.

The Russo Brothers took to their Twitter account on Monday, to share a short behind-the-scenes clip featuring Chris Evans as an ‘elderly’ Captain America.

If you still have somehow not seen Avengers: Endgame in the past year, be warned, since there will be spoilers below.

The short clip was taken during the filming of one of the movie’s final scenes, where Captain America is seen returning to present day, several decades older.

After the defeat of Thanos (Josh Brolin), Rogers returns the Infinity Stones to their original timeline, and elects to live in the past with his one true love, Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell).

He returns as an elderly man to pass his iconic Captain America shield, and therefore the title of Captain America, to Sam Wilson, a.k.a. The Falcon (Anthony Mackie).

The video shared by the Russo Brothers showed an aged-up Evans with grey hair and a tan jacket, as he goofs around between takes, throwing something into the river, as Mackie looks on.

Avengers: Endgame was the culmination of all three ‘phases’ of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, with Evans’ Captain America having one of the most intriguing arcs throughout the first 23 films.

Evans made his debut as Steve Rogers in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, which takes place during World War II as Steve Rogers becomes injected with an experimental serum and turned into the ‘super soldier’ known as Captain America.

The film ended with him waking up in present day 2011, as he was thawed out and brought back to life.

Cap was part of the title team in 2012’s The Avengers and he returned in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, where his old friend Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) has also been unearthed and turned into The Winter Soldier.

He joined the rest of the team again in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron before the final installment of his ‘trilogy,’ 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, which divided the Marvel Cinematic Universe and also introduced Spider-Man (Tom Holland).
