Some of the world’s best tennis players will take centre court in Adelaide on Friday to compete in the prestigious Davis Cup.

And on Tuesday, Australian team captain Lleyton Hewitt, 39, was spotted checking out the competition with his lookalike prodigy son Cruz, 11.

The duo were seen watching the Brazilian team practice at Memorial Drive Tennis Center, along with Australian coaches Jaymon Crabb and Tony Roach.

Dressed in his team jersey and a pair of black sports shorts, Lleyton looked tense as they kept an eye on the Brazilian players, who Australia will take on first. 

Also tagging along were Lleyton’s supportive parents Cherilynn and Glynn.  

Llyeton, the youngest player to ever qualify for the Australian Open also watched Aussie John Millman, currently ranked as the world No. 33 hit some balls.

The former world No. 1 and team mentor were then seen chatting to younger players, including world No. 44 Jordan Thompson and Alex Bolt who will be making his Davis Cup debut.

As team captain, Lleyton has the job of choosing the Australian line-up, with two of the country’s best players sidelined by injury.

Nick Kyrgios is unable to play due to a wrist injury while Alex de Manaur is out of the competition with an abdominal injury.

Despite this, Lleyton told Perth Now he has complete confidence in the Australian Team.

‘It’s not like I’m looking at this week as we’re coming in as underdogs,’ he said.

‘I’m very happy with the guys I have got in the team and I have full belief in what they can do.’

As the last Australian to win a men’s singles Grand Slam, the champ confirmed he was happy to pass the torch along to a new generation.

‘What I have installed into them is that this is your time now boys,’ he added.  

The former World No. 1 player has also been supporting his son at junior tournaments.

Budding tennis star Cruz has been seen on the court with his dad since he was just a toddler, and now as a pre-teen is competing in junior tennis matches at their home in Melbourne.

Lleyton is married to former Home And Away actress Bec Hewitt, 36, whom he shares son Cruz and daughters Mia Rebecca, 14, and Ava Sydney, nine.
