Ashley James hits out at fan for asking about her post-baby figure

Ashley James has hit out at a fan for asking about her post-baby figure, just weeks after she welcomed her first child Alfie.

In an Instagram Q&A on Wednesday, the former Made In Chelsea star, 33, declared her appearance is ‘nobody’s business’ and insisted: ‘I haven’t even thought about my weight’.

The DJ – who shares her baby son with her partner Tom Andrews – also expressed the importance of recovering from childbirth before ‘bringing exercise back into my lifestyle’.

When asked: ‘Will it be hard to lose weight after pregnancy?’, an irritated Ashley responded: ‘Someone come and collect their man/son from the trash.

‘Firstly: my weight pre or post pregnancy is nobody’s business but my own. Secondly: I find it MENTAL that our bodies have just grown a baby, and the moment they’re out of our body, people want to talk about weight.

‘Our bodies are recovering, relax. Thirdly: I’ve not even thought about my weight… But also all of our bodies react differently post birth… The important thing for me is recovering properly before I look at bringing exercise back into my lifestyle.’ (sic)

Earlier in the month, the body confidence advocate detailed her ‘first wobble’ since becoming a mother in a candid post.

The former CBB star confessed she broke down as she was unable to go on her ‘daily walk’ last Saturday due to London’s rainfall, and also reflected on raising her first child without help from her family amid the nationwide lockdown.

Sharing her experience of parenthood during the global crisis, the TV star said: ‘Sunday walks in the sunshine with the little.

‘Yesterday I had my first wobble since Alf was born. It probably sounds petty (or maybe you relate?), but it was raining all day and so we couldn’t go for our daily walk.

‘Getting out the house for a walk is my only reason for leaving the house at the moment, and so the rain taking that away from me hit me way more than it should have.

‘Then I spoke to my mum and just the thought that they can’t meet Alf until lockdown ends, just got me. My gran too. They missed my pregnancy, and now they’re missing the newborn phase. It’s just a bit sad.

‘I think my hormones kicked in, and I just needed a good cry. These are definitely weird times, although I do feel like there’s some great pros about giving birth in lockdown too…’ (sic)

The media personality explained how she felt better after waking up to sunny weather the following day, adding: ‘It was FREEZING, but just to see blue sky was so wonderful. It’s definitely the little things at the moment.

‘Anyway, I’ve spent all day having a clear out and tidying (in between feeds). I feel good, and ready to get back into work this week.

‘I’ve loved spending the last few weeks more or less offline, I needed a break, but honestly I’ve missed you guys (well, not the just you wait crew ).

‘I’m so excited to share my motherhood journey so far – I feel like I’ve learnt SO much! Both about myself, and as a new mummy. Anyway, I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.’

Ashley and tech professional Ashley, 30, welcomed Alfie on January 9, and recently said giving birth was more difficult than the two marathons she has run.

The blonde told HELLO! magazine: ‘I love being a mum. Every day I love him more. Before he came along, I suffered from anxiety, but now I feel calm and content, as if I was made to be a mum.

‘I’ve run two marathons, but giving birth is harder. I was in labour for 18 hours, but Tommy was with me all the way, holding my hand. And when Alfie finally emerged, it was amazing.

‘I used to think that I didn’t want children. Now I can’t imagine not wanting a baby or being without him.’
