Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper enjoy virtual hangout with John Mayer after hosting CNN NYE broadcast in Times Square
Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper put a social distancing spin on their broadcast after-party this New Year’s.
The dynamic duo were back in the saddle this year hosting the New Year’s Eve live show for CNN from Times Square.
And after work was done they had a virtual gabfest with none other than music hunk John Mayer, 43, Andy revealed on his Instagram page.

‘So… after the show we went downtown for snacks & a Kiki w/ @johnmayer. (AC refused another drop of tequila; I didn’t,)’ wrote Andy.
‘We knew it’d be a weird night, but I had so much fun hanging with all of you virtually, and I always have the best time with Anderson,’ he dished.
Alongside a picture of the virtual chat Andy wrote: ‘Lots of gratitude this morning and hope that we can reset into 2021. (And yes, I’m a little hungover.)’
Anderson and Andy were in Times Square as usual for the CNN show but unlike previous years there were no crowds below owing to the coronavirus lockdowns.

Andy is longtime close friends with John, even traveling to Brazil to be with the singer for his 40th birthday which occurred while he was on tour there.
Although he and Andy have joked about romance rumors, John is straight and has dated such stars as Jessica Simpson, Katy Perry Jennifer Aniston.
‘Have you ever been with a girl who made you want to quit the rest of your life?’ he said to Playboy about Jessica, whom he has also called ‘sexual napalm.’
‘Did you ever say: “I want to quit my life and just f***in’ snort you? If you charged me $10,000 to f*** you, I would start selling all my s*** just to keep f***ing you.’

Andy has a one-year-old son called Ben whom he raises alone, while Anderson co-parents his infant son Wyatt with his ex-boyfriend Benjamin Maisani.
Until three years ago Anderson co-hosted the New Year’s Eve broadcasts with Kathy Griffin who has carried on a seething feud with Andy.
Kathy landed in a huge controversy in 2017 after starring in a photo shoot where she held up a fake severed Donald Trump head in jest.
During the furor Anderson called her joke ‘disgusting’ and CNN fired her, after which Andy slid into her place and has been there ever since.
