Amy Schumer’s quarantine cooking show with chef husband Chris Fischer renewed for a second season by Food Network and the duo are set to whip up new episodes this summer

Fennel farmers rejoice! Amy Schumer’s hysterical cooking series has been extended by Food Network.

The comedian and her husband, chef Chris Fischer, are whipping up all new episodes of their quarantine series, Amy Schumer Learns to Cook, the star announced on Tuesday.

Amy revealed that she and the network are partnering in season two to donate to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp, in a statement to Variety.

Back in the kitchen: Amy Schumer Learns to Cook was renewed by Food Network for a second season after its successful four-episode run, the star announced on Tuesday

‘It’s official we are back for another season of #amyschumerlearnstocook on @foodnetwork as announced by @variety,’ Amy penned on social media.

Along with the caption, the 39-year-old posted a behind the scenes photo from the show of herself laughing with her one-year-old son Gene who was being held in a carrier by husband Chris while their nanny filmed.

After a successful four-episode debut season, Amy Schumer Learns to Cook will be back with new content on Food Network later in the summer.

‘We are happy to be coming back for a second season because sequels are always the best!’ Amy quipped in a statement.

She continued: ‘Chris and I are proud to be partnering with Food Network to donate to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp whose mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders.’

The cooking series premiered on May 11 and sees the actress learn to cook under the tutelage of her husband Chris Fischer, who is an award-winning chef and cookbook author.

For her part, Amy, who was a bartender in her pre-fame days, shakes up a cocktail each episode to go along with the meal. However, in one, she hysterically just opened a bottle of California Chardonnay and called it a day.

The couple tackled brunch, tacos and pasta dishes during the first four episodes of the series – which they shot without a crew during quarantine.

Giving a whole new meaning to the term ‘nanny cam,’ Gene’s dedicated nanny actually stepped up to serve as the camera person for the network show.

While Chris does most of the heavy lifting in the kitchen, Amy’s real gig is providing some side-splitting comic relief.

In one episode she phoned best friend Jennifer Lawrence, shortly after the Oscar winner woke, to chat about their lockdown drinking habits.

While the return of the show is certainly great news for Amy, it does mean the return of her least favorite vegetable … fennel. Husband Chris has an affinity for the anise flavored veggie which somehow makes an appearance in every single episode.
