Amy Schumer takes to Instagram to demonstrate her social distancing with Tony-winning pal Jerry Zaks

Amy Schumer took to Instagram on Thursday to demonstrate proper ‘social distancing’ with the help of her Tony award-winning stage director pal Jerry Zaks.

‘Social distancing with Jerry Zaks. #cherrypie,’ captioned the 38-year-old comedian who could be seen taking cautious back-and-forth steps in order to maintain the recommended ‘six foot’ distance.

In the background of Schumer’s short clip a sped-up version of Warrant’s 1990 rock hit Cherry Pie added some comic relief, playing as the Trainwreck star and Zaks attempted to coordinate their movements.

Schumer thanked her friend Mike O’Brien, who provided her with the idea to add the oddly remixed track to the video.

‘Step forward…step back…now THAT is social distance,’ instructed Amy, while she held on tightly to her tiny pooch.

The I Feel Pretty star has been adamant about maintaining social distancing since the escalation of the coronavirus.

So on Wednesday, Schumer made a makeup-free appearance on the most recent episode of Miley Cyrus’ Instagram Live talk show, Bright Minded, via webcam.

In the nearly one-hour stream, Schumer gave Cyrus’ 105million followers a glimpse at her darling 10-month-old son Gene.

Amy shares her baby boy with her chef husband Chris Fischer, who she married back in 2018.

Fischer made a brief appearance in Wednesday’s Bright Minded episode, where Schumer comedically referred to him as her ‘sperm donor.’

In addition to showing off her baby boy, Amy and Miley also discussed their shared fondness for the hit Bravo series Vanderpump Rules.

‘I’m more worried about the Vanderpump Rules cast than anybody with the coronavirus. With the amount of shots they take, I’m worried about them,’ Amy said.

Last Friday, Schumer initiated her Instagram based ‘self-quarantine’ documentation, when she took to her Instagram page to jokingly announce that all of her highly anticipated plans – like ‘working out’ and ‘eating well’ – had been ‘cancelled.’

‘You guys know I love going to the gym,’ she relayed sarcastically. ‘But I cant make it, it’s cancelled.’

‘And yeah, worst of all I was supposed to eat better today and that’s been cancelled,’ Schumer concluded, before adding, ‘So, y’know everybody just be safe, wash your hands, and it’s all cancelled.’
