Allison Holker and husband tWitch shed light on how race plays a role in their lives

Allison Holker and husband Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss show how race has impacted their lives as they take part in the Check Your Privilege challenge

Allison Holker and her husband Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss shed light on just how different their lives are due to the color of their skin.

The couple took part in Big Mamma’s Check Your Privilege challenge, which presents people with a series of scenarios intended to show how race has impacted their lives.

Participants are told to hold all 10 fingers up at the start of the quiz, and set one down for every scenario they have personally experienced.

Stephen, 37, had all 10 fingers down before the quiz was even complete, while Allison, 32, was only able to set one down.

The only question Holker was able to answer was if she had ever had to teach her child how to not get killed by the police.

The quiz contained a total of 12 scenarios ranging from being called a racial slur to being fearful of being pulled over by police.

As the scenarios played out, Stephen dropped one finger after the other while Allison’s remained up.

The haunting video was posted to Allison’s TikTok account, where she wrote in the video, ‘White privilege is real.’

Both Allison and Stephen have been shedding light on racial injustice on their social media platforms, as protests and riots continue across the country in response to the death of George Floyd.

Last week, Stephen urged followers to continue the movement off social media as he posted a painting of the late Floyd.

‘Seriously, what’s it going to take to prove our lives are valuable. I didn’t even know how to approach this. I see and feel the anger on my timeline and I see it on the TV. But then what? Then what? Just a few weeks ago we were yelling about Ahmaud, then Breonna, now yet another King was murdered in broad daylight.

‘In my post about Ahmaud I said we can’t become desensitized. We can’t leave this alone after the hashtags stop trending. These acts are products of a system that needs to be broken. To be infiltrated. But it has to happen after the headlines calm down. This anger and drive is fuel but we have to work at shutting bulls**t like this down everyday!

‘Holding people accountable. Even when you might be the only one to speak up. I don’t know where im going with this caption but im sick. Im sad. Rest in power to this King and love to his family for having to endure this. How many hashtags do our black bodies have to make trend before a shift happens.? How many? #justiceforgeorgefloyd #blacklivesmatter #takeaction.’

Allison recently showed her support by sharing an image of protests, along with a list of resources people can check out for more information.
