Jeopardy’s Alex Trebek isn’t letting cancer diagnosis and COVID-19 crisis stop him from enjoying family errand day at Home Depot with wife and son

Alex Trebek has beaten the odds since he announced he had been diagnosed stage IV pancreatic cancer on March 6, 2019.

And even with the COVID-19 pandemic still raging, the longtime Jeopardy! host is still enjoying some of the simple things in life.

On Tuesday, the Canadian native was spotted out with his wife, Jean Trebek, and son, Matthew Trebek, at a Home Depot in Los Angeles.

It’s safe to say the Trebeks came prepared for their afternoon jaunt to the Home Depot wearing hard hats and protective masks.

And even though they had their faces partially covered, it was to see that the couple, who just celebrated 30 years of marriage in April, were flashing big smiles. 

The game show legend look casual-cool in blue denim jeans and a blue button-down shirt over a t-shirt and black sneakers.

His wife opted to wear light brown, flared pants and a plaid blazer and heels.

The couple were also joined by their 30-year-old son Matthew, who also came coronavirus prepared in a white mask.

They also have a daughter Emily, that did not make it out for the the family shopping outing.

Trebek has been able to spend some quality time with his family since production of Jeopardy was shut down in March amid the growing pandemic.

That very same month he beat the odds when he announced he had survived one year of cancer treatments. The prognosis for surviving that long with stage IV pancreatic cancer is 18%. 

He has already added another three months to his inspiring fight for life.

Trebek has been the host of the syndicated Jeopardy! since its revival in 1984, and is contracted to continue hosting until 2022.

He maintains he’s looking forward to returning to the podium once it’s deemed safe to return, with a rep for the show telling TV Line that he wants to be one of the first shows back.         

Jeopardy! started airing episodes featuring, ‘big champions and big wins,’ including well-known players like James Holzhauer and Emma Boettcher, since June 15.
