Alex Jones wraps up warm in a green parka coat and black trousers

She never puts a foot wrong with fashion. 

And Alex Jones rocked a classic parka jacket and black trousers on Thursday as she wrapped up filming on The One Show. 

The TV presenter, 43, also carried black and brown bags full off her essential products after recording the BBC programme alongside Alex Scott.

Her chic coat boasted a faux fur collar, drawstring detailing and pockets. 

Alex’s caramel tresses were styled in a sleek bob and she wore natural make-up. 

Fellow TV presenter and football pundit Alex, 36, was seen on the set of The One Show sporting a fluffy blue jumper and leather-look trousers.

Her brunette tresses were swept to the side in a straight hairdo and she enhanced her visage with a make-up palette of neutral tones. 

Last year, it was revealed she had been tipped to replace Sue Barker on the BBC series A Question Of Sport, after impressing BBC bosses during previous appearances on the show.

Sue was axed as of host of the series after 24-years, alongside the team captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tuffnell.

A source claimed Alex being in consideration for the presenting job had ‘nothing to do with gender, nor is it a case of the BBC trying to be woke’.

The insider told The Sun that Alex was being ‘lined up’ as Sue’s replacement because of her sporting knowledge and experience.

They said: ‘Like Sue, she’s a former sportswoman and she also has five years of broadcasting under her belt. This has nothing to do with gender, nor is it a case of the BBC trying to be woke.

‘While a lot can happen over the next three months, as things stand Alex is genuinely considered the best woman for the job.’

Alex had previously guest-starred on A Question Of Sport twice, with one occasion being broadcast in November 2016.

During her athletic career, the former professional footballer represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics and was awarded an MBE in 2016. 

Alex also made 140 appearances for the English national team, and helped to score 12 goals.

After retiring from football in 2017, she went on to become the first female pundit for Sky Sport’s Super Sunday show.

Alex has plenty of presenting experience as she has also co-presented CBBC’s Match of the Day Kickabout and BBC One’s The Women’s Football Show. 

She also hosted BBC’s Sport Personality Of the Year 2020 for the first time.

Alex had previously admitted she is continually accused of ‘ticking a box’ in her broadcasting career, during an appearance on Women’s Health’s Going For Goal podcast.

She said: ‘Every job that I’m linked to and every job that I’m going to be doing on screen for the next couple of years, I know the first thing people will be saying – a lot of it because it is already happening – it’s because I’m ticking a box.

‘I came back from playing professional in America in 2012 just before the London Olympics, I was already thinking about my career after sport then.

‘I went and I did a media degree in 2013 – I spent two years doing that for this same reason, so that no one could ever say that I was just ticking a box.’
