Alex Jones and son Teddy, two, go rock pool exploring at the London aquarium

Alex Jones is every bit the doting mum as she and son Teddy, two, go rock pool exploring at the London aquarium

She is the doting mother to two young boys who she shares with husband Charlie Thomson.

And Alex Jones enjoyed a sweet day out with her eldest son Teddy, two, at the London Aquarium on Sunday.

The One Show presenter, 42, put on a stylish display as she got her hands wet touching starfish and other creatures at the launch of the attraction’s new Rock Pool Explorer experience.

The Welsh native wore a soft blush veranda rollneck and black jeans with some worn-look detailing for the mother-son outing.

She completed the outfit with some white flatform shoes and accessorised lightly with a gold chainlink bracelet.

The former Strictly contestant styled her brunette locks into a sleek, straight style that framed her face well and she used a natural palette of make-up to highlight her pretty features.

The outing comes after Alex recently insisted that having two children was enough, ‘for the sake of the planet.’

Speaking candidly about her pregnancy with Good Housekeeping magazine’s April issue on Wednesday, she also claimed that she felt she’d ‘made unrealistic promises’ by taking just three months maternity leave.

She spoke about why she and her husband didn’t want to add to their brood, and explained: ‘Charlie is adamant that for the sake of the planet, two children is enough. And I think I’m too old to have another child now, anyway.

‘It happens for a lot of people and good for them, but we’re just glad we have two healthy children.’

Alex then discussed how she decided to take nine months of maternity leave after the birth of her second son.

When asked if she wish she’d had more time off during her maternity leave in 2017 after choosing only to have three months off, Alex said: ‘Definitely. I’d made unrealistic promises before I went off to have a baby.

‘I’d never had a child before; I had no idea. And I had this fear it would interfere, that I’d have to compromise my work life.

‘I now realise that was ridiculous because in fact I think it makes you better at work. It makes you a little bit more resilient which is what you have to be in this industry. And in life!’

She came back to work in January, and told fans on Instagram that she was feeling ‘anxious’ but ‘excited’ emotions to return to The One Show in a sweet post, where she shared an image with her children.
