Adam Sandler kicks back with wife Jackie and their English bulldog Babu during a gloomy day at the beach

Life’s a beach when you’re a star in Malibu.

Adam Sandler made the most of an unusually gloomy day in Southern California and headed to the beach with his wife Jackie and their beloved dog Babu on Wednesday.

The 53-year-old actor has been waiting out the coronavirus quarantine with his family at home and keeping things local, frequently picking up takeout at local spots.

Out and about: Adam Sandler made the most of an unusually gloomy day in Southern California and headed to the beach with his wife Jackie and their beloved dog Babu on Wednesday

Sandler was spotted in his usual dress-down style wearing a unique combination of a blue T-shirt, silvery basketball shorts and short cocoa colored Ugg-style boots.

The Happy Gilmore star is sporting an impressive quarantine beard these days but he made sure to slather a thick layer of sunscreen on the rest of his face.

Clearly he’s been living in California long enough to know that you can still get a sunburn on a cloudy day at the beach.

Adam protected his face from the UV rays even further with a baseball cap and plastic aviator style sunglasses.

The comedy legend got in a little exercise while taking his English bulldog for a trot on the sand – though it didn’t look like a full workout as he was carrying a takeout coffee.

Later, he and his wife of 17 years, Jackie, planted some beach chairs in near a pier and relaxed.

Jackie took no chances with the sun (or her health) she wore a long sleeve shirt, long pants, a wide brimmed hat and rubber gloves.

While the pair weren’t wearing their masks on the isolated beach (with no one else in sight), Jackie had hers near by and Adam has been a regular wearer.

'I like it better when I can say no,' Adam joked to Jimmy Kimmel in May about life at home. 'Like my wife says, "Hey let's go somewhere" and I go, "Nah I don't want to do that." But I don't like being told by this pandemic, "You can't go anywhere." It's cooler to say no.'

Things in the Golden State are worse than ever and saw a record number of COVID-19 cases this week.

On Wednesday, Gov. Gavin Newsom confirmed that California saw 12,807 new infections had been reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The best thing Californians can do right now, Newsom said is wear a mask.
