Sandler’s video begins with the comedian setting up his camera, wearing a pink striped polo shirt, grey shorts and black sneakers.

He told his millions of social media followers (2.7M on Twitter, 11M on Instagram) that it’s been ’25 years since I’ve done this, so let’s see what happens.’

He backed up from the camera, wearing a white golf glove while carrying a massive oversized driver as he stepped up to the tee box.

‘Shooter McGavin, this is for you,’ he said, referencing his title character’s villain in the comedy, played by Christopher McDonald.

He then took a running start, as he does in the film, and unleashed a huge drive, which sounded like a crisp, clean hit off the tee.

‘I’m not lying to you, that is smashed,’ he said of his drive, though the camera was stationary and didn’t follow the drive.
