Adam Brody breaks out the wetsuit as he hits the waves of Malibu for a solo surfing session 

He is ordinarily hitting the waves with his wife Leighton Meester.

But Adam Brody enjoyed some time on the water all on his own on Sunday.

The actor, 41, was spotted surfing off the coast of Malibu by himself.

Adam wore a black wetsuit and hat atop his curly locks as he rode across the waves with his arms raised at either side for balance.

The Gossip Girl alum looked cool as a cucumber as he glided atop the water.

It wasn’t entirely smooth sailing for the surfing vet, however, with Adam at one point seen falling upon the board as he cruised through the ocean blue.

Overall, the excursion seemed to be quite the enjoyable one for the actor.

Afterwards, Adam left the beach barefoot with the board under his arm.

Leighton revealed to Shape last year that Adam had introduced her to surfing, which soon became her favorite way to stay in shape.

‘My husband also taught me how to surf, and in the last year, I got really into it,’ she shared in her cover story.

‘I have found that when I don’t have a physical result in mind when I’m exercising — it’s not just about getting sore or getting abs or burning fat — I feel much more confident. I’m working on a skill, and that is so fulfilling to me.’

She added: ‘Plus, being in the ocean is such a spiritual experience that you forget you’re getting a real workout.’

Leighton and Adam have been staying active since he revealed in September that they had welcomed a baby boy.

It was first revealed in April that they were expecting a sibling for their five-year-old daughter Arlo, who was born in 2015, though they have yet to disclose their son’s name.
