Abby Cohen’s man is close protection police officer she met six years after rugby ex Ben ditched her

Abby Cohen’s new man is a close protection police officer who guards celebs and MPs, MailOnline can reveal.  

The ex-wife of England rugby star Ben Cohen, 41, went official with David Warner by posting a romantic snap of the two on Instagram – six years after her former husband left her for ex-Strictly pro dancer Kristina Rihanoff, 42.  

Insiders close to David claim he looks after some of the country’s most high-profile dignitaries and his job is kept very much ‘under wraps.’ 

A source told MailOnline: ‘I know he’s a police officer doing some very sensitive work. You never see him in his uniform and he doesn’t speak about what he actually does.

‘But he’s a lovely, helpful man and we’re all really happy for them. They make a wonderful couple.’  

Mother-of-two Abby was left distraught after Ben ended their 11-year marriage having fallen victim to the ‘Strictly curse.’ 

But she’s finally found happiness again with David, who she described alongside the romantic image of them as her ‘perfect man.’ 

Abby, who lives in Northampton, met David in her local gym but the pair chose to keep their relationship private for some time.     

After eventually going public this week, Abby chose to like one comment on her post, which read: ‘I believe you have upgraded.’

Another message she liked exclaimed: ‘Definite upgrade. So pleased for you,’ followed by a smiling emoji face and love heart.

Abby also gave her seal of approval to one fan message which told her: ‘A real step up.’

Another message she liked stated: ‘What a gorgeous pic of a classy lady and her handsome beau. A bit of feel good news. Xx.’

Photographer Abby split from Ben six years ago after it was revealed that he had an affair with former Strictly star Kristina. 

Abby and Ben share twin daughters Harriette and Isabelle, 12, while Ben welcomed a third child, Mila, in 2016.

Abby lives in a stunning country home in Northamptonshire with her two children while Ben has settled down to his new life in a village barely 30 minutes away.

Following their acrimonious split, Abby has worked hard to rebuild her life and career. She is presenting an online makeover show with Ant McPartlin’s ex Lisa Armstrong and has also been busy working in London to revive her photography work.

Abby has been vocal about the betrayal she went through with Ben.

Having split from him in 2014, she told The Sun On Sunday a year later: ‘My husband, who I was with for 23 years, unconditionally loved and was completely loyal to in every respect, has left me for a f**king Russian dancer.

‘The last two years have been the most traumatic thing to ever happen to me. He’s done the dirty on me. I want people to know.

‘I don’t want to cause stress or further damage by stirring things up. But I’m just trying to recover from what has been the most horrific time of my life.’

When Ben split from Abby, he and Kristina denied that they had had an affair, despite being pictured with their arms around one another on the London Underground.

During the summer of 2015 they went to Turkey together but tried to hide this – even taking separate flights to the Turkish resort of Antalya.
