The Bachelor’s Abbie Chatfield reveals she once considered getting plastic surgery on her vagina – but didn’t go ahead for a very important reason
Former Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield is certainly not shy when it comes to talking about sexual health.
And in a recent episode of her podcast It’s A Lot, she revealed that she once considered getting labiaplasty – a cosmetic surgery procedure that involves trimming back the folds of skin either side of the vaginal opening.
The reality star, 25, was asked by a listener what she should do after her boyfriend told her that he liked ‘neater vaginas’, which left her feeling insecure.

Abbie said that labiaplasty surgery was on the rise partly because some women want to change the appearance of their genitalia to appeal to men.
She the confessed: ‘I’ve considered getting labiaplasty. That’s purely because of other people’s experience with my vagina, with my vulva, by my labia.’
‘But I kind of pushed through those thoughts because I don’t want to get a cosmetic procedure on something that brings me pleasure.’

‘I don’t want to minimise the nerves in my vagina just because of a sexual gaze of women or men, whomever I decide to sleep with,’ she added.
Abbie said on the podcast that it’s common these days for women to the discuss the appearance and shape of their vagina, which she finds ‘disheartening’.
She then urged the listener to ‘bin’ her partner and to stop shaming herself because everyone has differently shaped genitalia.

Abbie, who was the runner-up on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor last year, has previously spoken candidly about sexually transmitted diseases on her podcast.
‘When it comes to self slut-shaming, this is something that I still struggle with a lot. I have had STIs in the past,’ she said earlier this year.
‘I used to have a list of people that I’d slept with. When I stopped counting it was like 50.’
An STI is an infection passed from one person to another through sexual contact. Examples include chlamydia, gonorrhea, genital herpes, human papillomavirus (HPV), syphilis and HIV.
In most Australian states, if you have certain STIs, you are legally obliged to inform your sexual partner/s so they can get tested and treated.
