A Holey Moley contestant is forced to drop out of the competition after injuring himself

A contestant was deemed ‘unable to continue’ with the competition on Tuesday’s episode of Holey Moley, after they injured themselves on one of the courses.

Justin, 48, was left hurt after flinging himself at a mechanical shark during one of the hit Channel Seven show’s dangerous miniature golf courses.

Despite winning his round, the Queensland man was ordered to drop out of the competition by the show’s medics, giving his rival, Jesse, 38, a second chance.  

Just moments before Justin was set to step up to play the distractor round, commentator Matt Shirvington announced he’d been forced to pull out.

‘After Putt the Plank, our medics have ruled that he is unable to continue,’ said the 42-year-old former Olympic sprinter.

Matt then explained that Jesse would be given ‘another shot’ after previously being beaten by Justin.  

After being ordered to ‘walk the plank’ during ‘Putt the Plank’, Justin bravely stepped forward and eyed off the moving mechanical shark he needed to leap onto.

As the shark came closer, he leapt off the plank and landed against the side of the animal with a dramatic thump.

He then fell backwards into the water as the show’s commentators, Matt and Rob Riggle, both recoiled.

‘That looked like it hurt… I felt it in my sternum. Wow, that hurt me. Just the sound of it,’ said Rob, 50.

As the slow motion footage played back the dramatic incident, Justin could be seen wincing as he fell off the shark and into the water.

But moments after emerging from the water, Justin’s adrenaline seemed to have kicked in, with the determined competitor revving up the crowd.

‘He is ready to go. What he wants to do is catch his breath, I think,’ added Rob, who appeared stunned by his quick recovery.  

The second chance paid off for Jesse, who secured a spot in the show’s coveted grand final.
