Rapper 24kGoldn dethrones Mariah Carey and lands his TENTH week at the top of Australia’s ARIA chart with his hit single Mood

American rapper 24kGoldn has landed his tenth week at the No. 1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart with his hit single Mood.

The song, which features Iann Dior, is followed by Sydney rapper The Kid Laroi’s track Without You in second spot.

Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You fell from top spot to fourth, while Tones And I’s Fly Away reached number 11 on the charts.

Tones And I’s success with Fly Away follows on from her chart-topping hits Dance Monkey and Never Seen The Rain. 

Rapper 24kGoldn, real name Golden Landis Von Jones, dropped out of college in October 2019 to focus on his music. 

When Mood dropped in July last year, it became a viral hit on TikTok, and soon climbed the charts.

He has also made history in being only the third artist born in the 2000s to have topped The Billboard Hot 100. 

The 20-year-old rising star told Entertainment Weekly in October his debut album will be released in early 2021. 

‘Yeah, I’ve been working on El Dorado, the debut album for all of quarantine. That was a blessing in disguise, having the time to lock in and focus on making the album,’ he said.

The Californian-born star also believes he has the potential ‘to be one of the biggest artists’, if not the ‘biggest artist’ of his generation.

‘I feel like when you go and make your own wave, instead of riding another wave, that wave can only get bigger and bigger and bigger,’ he said.

‘If you’re riding someone else’s wave, that wave is only going to die down.’
